Each year, Snap Laundromat celebrates Christmas with our lights display, featuring the 4 metre tree, part of the annual 4KQ Brisbane Christmas Lights competition.
Don’t miss this year’s display, on every night from 6th November 6pm – 10pm, at our Taringa location: 69 Westerham Street Taringa.
Place of Stones, next door, is open for dinner Tues – Sat inclusive. Why not bring the family to enjoy the lights display, guess what’s in those big presents under the tree, and enjoy dinner or gourmet pizza from Stones.
The cooler nights have started in Brisbane, which means it is time for many of us to dig out the winter doonas, blankets, comforters and quilts.
And since these items have been stored over summer, it’s a good idea to give them a wash and dry to freshen them up. Check the care instructions, as many winter items are machine washable, and that means a simple visit to your local Laundromat rather than using an expensive dry cleaner.
Wash your Big Winter Items in our HUGE front loaders
The front loaders at Snap Laundromat are ideal for larger items as they have bigger bowl capacity in comparison to household washing machines, and there is no agitator to get in the way or get caught on.
My favourite washing machines at Snap are the big ones – the MAXI washer @ Taringa and the huge MEGA washer @ Paddington. These machines are the perfect choice for washing king or queen size doonas, blankets, curtains, comforters, quilts, sheets, protectors, pillows, rugs and towels. All of the front loaders are super fast, and only take 25 minutes to complete. The MEGA washer is an express machine too – so it completes it’s cycle in under 23 minutes.
To compliment these big machines, we installed an automatic detergent dosing system that injects high quality suds into the machines with every wash, so there is no need to add detergent. This means you don’t need to worry about over-suding your doonas and blankets – horray!
Dry your Big Winter items in our Express Dryers
If your items can be tumbled dry, the large cylinders of the Dexter Express dryers we have at Snap mean that drying large items can be done in a snap. Most winter items prefer a low setting in the dryers, but check your care instructions first.
Why not freshen up your doonas and blankets at Snap Laundromat? We’re open 24/7 so you can do your winter washing when it suits you. With two locations now – Taringa & Paddington – getting your winter laundry done is fast, easy and inexpensive.

Many of us enjoy using the Easter long weekend to go camping, relax, and spend some quality time with family and friends.
As it is such a busy holiday period, it’s a good idea to do some pre-checking of the tent and camping essentials, such as the sleeping bags and linen, to make sure everything is ready for the big trip!
Washing the sleeping bags keeps them feeling fresh and in top condition.
So, how do you wash and dry a sleeping bag? Easy!
At Snap Laundromat, all you need is your sleeping bag, one of the large front loaders and one of the express dryers, and a couple of tennis balls!
Always check the washing and care instructions. Most sleeping bags can be washed but you need to be sure before you proceed.
Select a large front loader washing machine. Do not use a top loader, as the drawstring and straps of the bag can get caught or tangled on the agitator.
Zip the bag up and place in the front loader.
Select Cold Water (gentle) wash. At Snap, we installed an automatic dosing system which automatically injects high quality mild detergent into the machines with every wash, so there is no need to add detergent.
Avoid fabric softeners and bleach, especially with down bags. Don’t expose yourself and the environment to the chemicals in softeners and bleach if you don’t need to.
When complete, get the sleeping bag carefully out of the machine, place in a basket, and allow it to drip dry outside for a few minutes.
Do not wring the water out; instead, just press the water out where possible.
For many sleeping bags, it is possible to use a large dryer like the ones at Snap, where the bag can freely tumble around. While this is suitable for most sleeping bags, read the label carefully before you proceed.
Set the tumble dryer setting to low.
Ensure that the bag is not still soaked (allow drip drying first).
Placement of one or two tennis balls in the dryer can assist in ensuring even distribution of down or filling while the bag dries.
Tumble dry at low setting only. Check regularly and remove as soon as it has dried.
Make sure your bag is completely dry when packing in it’s bag.
Happy sleeping bag washing and enjoy your camping trip!
At Snap, we strive to provide a self service laundry that is always aligned with our motto of Fast, Easy, Clean. Our impact on the environment is also an important consideration for us, and we have made a number of decisions to minimise our carbon footprint and support eco friendly options at our laundry. Here’s how you can do environmentally friendly laundry at Snap:
Save Water. Water savings can be made by simply considering the choice of washing machine to do your laundry. One of the biggest advantages of front loader machines is that they use much less water than top loaders – up to 70% less. Our Dexter front loader washing machines are internationally renowned for their sump-free washer design and flexible water usage settings to reduce water consumption. Compared to domestic household machines, our Dexters use significantly less water.
Save Energy. Front loaders use a tumbling action to turn and wash clothes, so this uses less energy than the mechanical parts moving in a top loader. They are also designed to have higher spin speeds, resulting in less moisture in the clothes on completion. This shortens the energy and drying time required by the dryers when you need them – therefore reducing greenhouse gases.
Reduce Greenhouse Gases. Our express dryers have the reputation for delivering maximum energy efficiency by balancing heat input, tumble speed, air recirculation, and airflow through large-diameter cylinders. A standard load of washing can be dried in less than 30 minutes at the laundromat, compared to household dryers that can take well over an hour to dry and utilise so much energy.
Use Less Detergent. Too much detergent can make your clothes stiff, cause a build up of mould and mildew, and negatively impacts the environment. We made the decision to install an automatic dosing system so that high quality detergent is automatically injected into the machines with every wash. Only a small amount of good quality detergent is required to provide the perfect wash.
Avoid Dry Cleaning Chemicals. Washing and drying your large items – such as doonas, pillows & blankets – in our BIG machines means that you can avoid harsh dry cleaning chemicals. Our MAXI machine can wash up to 20 kilograms in just 25 minutes, using mild detergent for a brilliant clean.
We strive to create a bright, clean, safe & interesting environment that carefully considers its impact on the environment. Come and visit us, where you can support eco friendly laundry choices AND get your washing done in a snap.
