Eliminate your laundry pile and kickstart your laundry routine with the efficiency & convenience of Snap Laundromats!
Here’s 5 ways we can help to kickstart you laundry routine this year:
Save time with 25 minute washers. Yes, really! All of the stainless steel front loader washing machines at Snap Laundromats, including the huge Maxi and Mega washers, take less than 25 minutes to finish. Home domestic machines just can’t match this speed & efficiency.
Load many machines at once. Save time by loading multiple washing machines simultaneously – whites in one, darks in a second machine, and dedicates in another – so that an entire week’s worth of laundry (or more) is all done at once. A great time saving idea for big families!
Get a higher quality wash for better results. Our Dexter front loaders use a natural tumbling action – rather than relying on a mechanical agitator – to offer a higher quality wash with lasting results.
You don’t even need detergent anymore: Both Brisbane laundromats are also connected to an automatic detergent dosage system, providing quality mild detergent free of charge!
Cashless payments for your convenience. The digital era has arrived at our laundromats, where you can use a smart phone or tablet to pay and activate the washers & dryers (using Eziwash). We also offer free WiFi.
Snap Laundromats at Taringa and Paddington are OPEN everyday 24/7. We’d love to help you kickstart your laundry routine in 2015!
Using your local, energy efficient laundromat is a smart way to be eco-friendly by significantly saving on water and energy used on your laundry. At Snap Laundromats, we offer Dexter Laundry washers & dryers – internationally renowned for the water & energy efficiency designs.
Reduce your water waste
After showers, clothes washing is typically the second largest indoor consumer of water in Australian households. According to www.savewater.com.au, 15-20% of all water consumed in the home is used in the laundry, making this room a high consumer of not only water but also energy and detergents.
Significant water savings can be made by simply considering the choice of washing machine to do your laundry. One of the biggest advantages of front loader machines is that they use less water than top loaders, up to 70% less in some cases or 36,000 litres per year for a typical household.
The Dexter front loader machines at Snap Laundromats have a sump-free washer design and flexible water usage settings to help reduce water consumption.
Improve your energy efficiency
Front loaders use a tumbling action to turn and wash clothes, so this uses less energy than the mechanical parts moving a top loader. They are also designed to have higher spin speeds than top loaders, resulting in less moisture in the clothes on completion. This shortens the energy and drying time required by the dryers – therefore reducing greenhouse gases.
At Snap, a standard load of laundry is washed in less than 25 minutes and dried in less than 30 minutes, compared to household dryers that can take well over an hour to dry.
Our laundry has Dexter express (natural gas) dryers, which have the reputation for delivering maximum energy efficiency by balancing heat input, tumble speed, air recirculation, and airflow through large-diameter cylinders.
Water and energy savings means that you can be kind to the environment simply by doing smart laundry.

Many of us enjoy using the Easter long weekend to go camping, relax, and spend some quality time with family and friends.
As it is such a busy holiday period, it’s a good idea to do some pre-checking of the tent and camping essentials, such as the sleeping bags and linen, to make sure everything is ready for the big trip!
Washing the sleeping bags keeps them feeling fresh and in top condition.
So, how do you wash and dry a sleeping bag? Easy!
At Snap Laundromat, all you need is your sleeping bag, one of the large front loaders and one of the express dryers, and a couple of tennis balls!
Always check the washing and care instructions. Most sleeping bags can be washed but you need to be sure before you proceed.
Select a large front loader washing machine. Do not use a top loader, as the drawstring and straps of the bag can get caught or tangled on the agitator.
Zip the bag up and place in the front loader.
Select Cold Water (gentle) wash. At Snap, we installed an automatic dosing system which automatically injects high quality mild detergent into the machines with every wash, so there is no need to add detergent.
Avoid fabric softeners and bleach, especially with down bags. Don’t expose yourself and the environment to the chemicals in softeners and bleach if you don’t need to.
When complete, get the sleeping bag carefully out of the machine, place in a basket, and allow it to drip dry outside for a few minutes.
Do not wring the water out; instead, just press the water out where possible.
For many sleeping bags, it is possible to use a large dryer like the ones at Snap, where the bag can freely tumble around. While this is suitable for most sleeping bags, read the label carefully before you proceed.
Set the tumble dryer setting to low.
Ensure that the bag is not still soaked (allow drip drying first).
Placement of one or two tennis balls in the dryer can assist in ensuring even distribution of down or filling while the bag dries.
Tumble dry at low setting only. Check regularly and remove as soon as it has dried.
Make sure your bag is completely dry when packing in it’s bag.
Happy sleeping bag washing and enjoy your camping trip!
